It seems like there should be plenty of time to be creative during this pandemic. Everyone else has the time to do something creative but somehow life as gotten in the way of personal creative goals, again. Maybe it’s work. Maybe its school, kids, finances, stress or something else. Remember that the amount of free time varies between people as we go through this pandemic together.
What staying creative looks like will change from person to person. There is no right way to stay creative. This can open many doors for creative possibilities, but it can also be stressful for some people because they might not know what to do or where to start. However, being creative is a good stress reliever. For me, school as drained my creativity with dead week and finals week around the corner, and the workload has increased my stress. To stay creative and reduce my stress, I have kept things simple. When I go on a walk, I try to take a few pictures. Those pictures might end up on Instagram but probably not. My roommate and I have done some stress baking. Our stuff has turned out well, but we like talking about what we might do differently next time. My roommate is also a vet student, so she randomly shares with me about the things she is learning. I told her that I have decided to share on social media the things she tells me. She has agreed to this and will continue to share random animal facts that I never would have Googled. These things might not be considered traditional creative activities, but that’s how I have stayed creative. When being creative is a struggle, it’s good to start small because creative activities do not need to be a big project. They can be simple such as coloring books or doodling. Being creative can include experimenting with a recipe, decorating cookies, or sharing about your living situation during this pandemic. Our goal is to inspire creativity during this time. We are asking people to share how they have stayed creative to help other people find creative outlets. Creativity is fun and a great way to relieve stress. It can help people make connects during this time. If you have a creative activity you enjoy doing, tag @_bokeh_lenson Instagram and use the hashtags #CreateBokeh #BookBokeh #Staycreativeathome
